To mark National Farmers Day we thought we’d share some fun facts on farming in the UK.

57% of all land in the UK is used for agriculture!
There are over 200,000 farms in the UK!
East Anglia produces enough barley make 2.5 million pints of beer each year!
We produce 8 million tonnes of wheat a year and the average person buys 43 loaves of bread per year.
5.5 million tonnes of potatoes are produced each year enough to make 27.5 billion packets of crisps!
60% of food eaten in the UK is grown in Britain.
For every £1 invested in farm support delivers £7.40 back to the economy.
Our iconic British countryside generates over £21 billion in tourism each year.
