We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who visited the RICO Europe stand over the two-day event.
The benefits of using AdBlue
AdBlue, also known as Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is made up of deionised water and concentrated urea.
Developed for the motoring industry, not all know the true benefits AdBlue has to offer.
With emission standards tightening across the world to reduce pollution many heavy-duty vehicle operators are now using AdBlue in a way to reduce their carbon footprint.
How it works
To comply with Euro 6 regulations, diesel cars developed since 2015 use selective catalytic reduction (SCR), a technology which involves injecting precise amounts of liquid in an exhaust system creating a chemical reaction which neutralises harmful emissions.
When injected, the AdBlue fluid reacts with Nitrogen Oxide breaking it down in to harmless gasses (nitrogen and oxygen) before it leaves the exhaust system and into the atmosphere.
The Benefits of Using AdBlue
Environmental benefits
AdBlue helps reduce Nitrous Oxide emissions, which are harmful to the environment and contribute to air pollution. This makes it a great solution for those who are environmentally conscious and want to do their part in reducing their carbon footprint.
Fuel efficiency
By reducing emissions, AdBlue also helps increase fuel efficiency. This means that diesel vehicles using AdBlue can run more efficiently and consume less fuel, leading to cost savings and reduced fuel usage.
Compliance with emissions standards
Many countries have strict emissions standards that diesel vehicles must comply with. AdBlue helps diesel vehicles meet these standards and avoid fines and penalties.
Improved performance
AdBlue helps improve engine performance by reducing the formation of deposits in the diesel particulate filter (DPF) and maintaining the efficiency of the engine.
Ease of use
AdBlue is easy to use and can be bought from RICO Europe. The fluid is stored in a separate tank on the vehicle and is automatically mixed with the diesel fuel to reduce emissions.
Safety
AdBlue is environmentally friendly, meaning it is non-toxic, non-flammable, non-explosive and is categorised as a minimum risk category for fluids transported in the UK.
Using AdBlue in diesel vehicles offers a wide range of benefits, from reducing emissions and improving fuel efficiency to improving performance and ensuring compliance with emissions standards. It is a great solution for those who are environmentally conscious and want to do their part in reducing their carbon footprint.
AdBlue is a regular requirement in the transport industry and can be bought for single use as well as in bulk for fleets of trucks.
