What the New Windsor Framework Means for Our Northern Ireland Customers

As a UK-based business, we regularly ship parcels across the country—including to our valued customers in Northern Ireland. With the introduction of the Windsor Framework, there are a few important updates we want to share.

The Windsor Framework replaces parts of the old Northern Ireland Protocol, aiming to simplify trade between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The good news? It’s now easier to ship parcels to Northern Ireland without the same level of customs friction we saw before.

Here’s what’s changed and what it means for you:

1. Green Lane for Goods:

Goods staying in Northern Ireland now move through a simplified “Green Lane.” This means reduced paperwork and fewer checks for parcels that are clearly not heading to the EU.

2. Less Red Tape:

We no longer need to complete full customs declarations for most parcels going to individuals or businesses in Northern Ireland, unless they're destined for further travel into the EU.

3. Faster Delivery Times:

With fewer delays at the border, parcels should arrive more smoothly and quickly—great news for everyone.
