PPS - Needle-punched nonwovens

Needle-punched nonwovens (PPS) are deposited in a carding machine to form a fleece; at the same time the individual fibres are joined together to create a fibrous web (fleece)
During fibre processing it is possible to achieve directional orientation and heavier fleeces are produced by using several layers of fibres
Needle punching is the process whereby the fleece is strengthened and compressed by repeatedly puncturing the fibrous web using a number of barbed hooks
A range of different surface structures can be produced using the needle punching process
