CJC ® Varnish Removal insert, VRi 27/27, is used in the CJC ® Varnish Removal Unit, VRU, and is specially developed for effective filtration/removal of soluble oxidation residues in mineral and synthetic based:

  • Hydraulic oil
  • Turbine lubricating oil

Decomposition Residues

Oxidation residues, resin, varnish and sludge are retained by the specially developed cellulose material, which can retain around 2kg per filter insert.

It has been documented that VRi 27/27 does not affect additives such as anti-oxidants in the oil (amines/phenols).

Component

CJC ® Varnish Removal insert, VRi 27/27, consists of composite double discs made from a cellulose mixture, which is carefully selected from several different types of cellulose fibers to specifically achieve effective removal of oil-soluble oxidation residues.

This type of insert only works when used in conjunction with the CJC ® Varnish Removal Unit, VRU. The special flow, recirculation and cooling characteristic of CJC ® VRU ensures that oil-soluble oxidation residues are effectively crystallized and removed. 

Documented cases have shown the removal of 4 kg (4,000g)/8 lb of solid contaminants and oil degradation products per filter insert with one VRU Filter Insert change (4 x VRi 27/27 16 kg/32 lb). Single-pass efficiency for varnish removal and MPC reduction of up to 99 percent. An Ultra-Centrifuge test can also be used to detect varnish.
