ELBK 27/25 CJC Filter Insert

The CJC® ELBK 27/25 Filter Insert is part of the CJC® EL ion-exchange filter insert range, specifically developed to remove acidic oil degradation products and soluble varnish from synthetic oils. It is particularly effective in applications where oil degradation occurs due to hydrolysis, high temperatures, or water contamination.

By removing acids and varnish precursors, the ELBK insert helps stabilise oil chemistry, reduce corrosion risk, and extend oil service life.

Function and Performance

The ELBK 27/25 insert is used to:

• Remove oil degradation products

• Reduce soluble and insoluble varnish

• Lower Total Acid Number (TAN)

• Reduce Membrane Patch Colorimetry (MPC) values

• Increase oil resistivity

It is especially effective at removing acids created during hydrolysis of ester oils, a common issue in fire-resistant and synthetic lubricant systems.

Installation Requirements

The CJC® ELBK Filter Inserts must be used in combination with CJC® cellulose filter inserts, acting as post-filters. They are typically installed:

• As the final stage in a CJC® HDU multi-stay filter

• In a CJC® HDU single-stay filter using hybrid filter inserts

This configuration ensures both mechanical filtration and chemical neutralisation of the oil.
