EC 27/27 CJC Filter Insert

The CJC® EC 27/27 Filter Insert is part of the CJC® EC acidity neutralisation range, developed to remove acidic oil degradation products, oxidation by-products, resins, sludge, and varnish from operating fluids.

The insert contains Fuller’s Earth, a natural adsorbent primarily composed of aluminium silicates (clay minerals). Its large internal surface area enables highly effective, non-selective adsorption of oil contaminants, helping stabilise oil chemistry and slow further degradation.

By removing acids and varnish precursors, the EC 27/27 insert supports:

• Reduced Total Acid Number (TAN)

• Lower Membrane Patch Colorimetry (MPC) values

• Increased oil resistivity

• Improved oil cleanliness and service life

Installation and Use

CJC® EC Filter Inserts must be used in combination with CJC® cellulose filter inserts, acting as post-filters. They are typically installed:

• In the final stage of a CJC® HOU multi-stay filter, or

• In a CJC® HOU single-stay filter using hybrid filter inserts

This configuration ensures both mechanical filtration and chemical neutralisation of the oil.

Applicable Oil Types

The EC 27/27 filter insert is suitable for use with:

• Mineral oils

• Hydraulic fire-resistant fluids (HFO)

• Glycol oils – Polyalkylene Glycols (PAG)

• Ester oils, including:

  • Polyolester oils (POE)

  • Phosphate ester oils

  • Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EAL)

  • Biodegradable oils
