VRI 27/27 varnish removal insert CJC

The CJC® VRi 27/27 Varnish Removal Insert is specifically engineered for optimum varnish removal in gas and steam turbine systems, as well as hydraulic applications where varnish contamination can lead to sticking valves, deposits, and reduced system reliability.

This insert is used exclusively in conjunction with the CJC® Varnish Removal Unit (VRU) and is designed to remove soluble varnish and oxidation by-products without negatively affecting the oil’s additive package.

Typical Applications

The VRi 27/27 insert is suitable for use with:

• Hydraulic oils

• Turbine lubricating oils

Varnish and Degradation Product Removal

Varnish, oxidation by-products, and resin/sludge are retained by the advanced cellulose filter media. The VRi 27/27 insert can retain approximately 2 kg of soluble varnish, helping to restore oil cleanliness and reduce the risk of deposits forming on sensitive components.

The insert is documented not to affect phenolic or aminic antioxidant additives, ensuring oil performance is maintained while varnish is removed.

System Functionality

This insert type is only functional when used with the CJC® Varnish Removal Unit (VRU). The VRU’s specialised flow characteristics promote crystallisation of soluble varnish, allowing it to be effectively captured by the VRi 27/27 insert.

Construction and Materials

The VRi 27/27 consists of bonded double discs manufactured from a carefully selected blend of three different cellulose fibre types, optimised specifically for soluble varnish removal.
